There are many ways to inspire.

Sometimes it could be just a glance or a smile. Maybe it’s a simple touch, a handshake, or maybe a hug. Some people are inspired by words, some by deeds. Whatever it may be that inspires, everyone wants and needs inspiration. We like to have our words match our deeds. We see a need and we want to try to fill that need. Here are some needs we can fulfill and a few ideas that you may use to inspire your family, neighbors, community, block, city, or even people on the other side of the world.

 

Freshwater Well

One of our partner churches in Gampalagudem Gullapudi Village, India brought this urgent need to my attention. This village had a freshwater well that served the needs of everyone in this rural village, but recently the well became contaminated and the water undrinkable. The villagers now must walk to the neighboring village to obtain fresh drinking water and carry the water home. We have an opportunity to save this village by providing resources to drill a new freshwater well. There are companies in India that do this work, guarantee the results, and include the piping, pumps, and material necessary to sustain the well for future generations. The cost to drill a well of this depth is approximately $1,500. If God moves on your heart to help the people of this village, 100% of your donation will go to drilling this well in this village. You can truly inspire an entire village with your donation.

Bicycle for outreach ministry

A Bike, almost every kid in America received one as a child. For us that meant a newfound independence and freedom to explore. Whether that was our cul-de-sac, street, nearest park, ride to school, or simply go cruisin’ with friends. That bike meant so much more than becoming mobile. It was exhilarating. But for ministers at some of our partner churches in rural southern India, a bike means so much more. It means reaching people with the gospel of Jesus Christ in villages outside of walking distance. When I visited India, I went to some of these villages and many had never heard the gospel, never encountered a Christian minister, and never were invited to accept a relationship with God through His Only Son Jesus Christ. A Bike, given to a missionary, can make these outreaches a reality. Each bike for an adult cost only $100. We want to provide 4 bikes to these ministers and churches.

Bibles in a Native language

The Bible is the most printed book in the history of mankind. More Bibles are printed and sold every year than any other book. But, surprisingly, many people, including ministers, do not own a Bible in their native language. Many organizations locate used native language Bibles to salvage and restore them, only to charge such enormous high rates that most individuals in India cannot afford a Bible. We have successfully found a source for Bibles printed in the Indian Telugu language. We can purchase these Bibles for as little as $12.00 per Bible. A full case of 20 Bibles will cost approximately $240.00 including freight to India.

A Few more Ideas

 

Prayer Walk

This fairly straight forward, walk around your block while praying for each neighboring home. Pray for the occupants, pray for the household to come into a deeper relationship with God. Ask the Holy Spirit to send the Spirit of Salvation to the home and cast out any oppressive spirits that have dominion in that home. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal how God could use you on your block while you pray. It takes a little time and has a great impact.

Volunteer at a Local Food Bank

Many families, especially now, rely on a local food bank for their daily meals. Every food bank relies on vonunteers and donations to ever increasing requirements to meet the needs of families right there in your community.
